Winterfest '12
I went to a christian convention this weekend. We got up at like 430 in the morning Friday to take a bus to the lovely Gatlinburg TN. Ashland Church of Christ got us with the charter bus around 630. The ride there felt as if it took 12 hours instead of just 8 coming from Marion. I sat with a good friend of mine and we talked alot on the way there, realizing new things, and bringing up old memories. Church of Christ goers love to sing, and we sang a lot on the way down, and back home. When we got there we checked into the hotel, it was a cheap one with only 3 stories and we all got stuck on the third floor. Only a few floors means stairs which really sucked. After we got settled in we went to go stand in line for the first session. Winterfest is a convention bringing Church of Christ christians together to worship God, and to learn more, and to inspire, which is exactly what happens. There is two services that is provided, we go to the early bird one, and they also have a late one, averaging about 7,000 chistians, each service. This is my second year going and I have a good idea of what we do, and on the first night we always go to the Texas Roadhouse. I sat with Luke, Sam, Caleb, and Jason. Afterwords it was about 9, so we went to the hotel and we went to bed. The next morning we woke up at 730ish for the morning session. I got to meet David Bowden, he's an artist. He writes poerty and talks at Winterfest. Well, he recites his poems to us, and walks away. He talks about a variety of things, the one that stuck out was the one at the evening session that night. He talked about savoring God's word , chewing and meditating on it so you understand and it sticks with you. He puts so much heart and soul into it when he speaks, it gives you the chills. I could listen to him all day. I just wish I could understand him the way it was meant. It's very hard. So much goes on, but my favorite part was Sunday's service, we got to the line early and we go close to the front, so we got near the front of the stage, we were probably 50ish yards away, which is better than looking at a screen from further. Anyways, while the man was speaking, there was a painter behind him painting on a canvas. It looked like an oversized flower to me. When he was finished I didn't understand it. Paintings always have a meaning. I could make out some plants and part of a glass and a moon shaped cresent. The man speaking asked us to pray with him, so we did. We closed our eyes and bowed. When we opened our eyes and looked up, the lights were turned off and the painting was lifted. It was now Jesus looking at us, offering bead and wine. It took my breath away, it was simply gorgeous. Overall the experience was truely amazing. I learned so much and I have become a better person because of it. It's hard to write everything out, and I'm sorry, a lot of what I learned is for me to figure out right now. God Bless.

What is love?
First of all, love isn't as complicated as everyone thinks it is. It's as simple as you love, or you don't. Love is a gift that you can give to anybody wether it's you holding the door, or doing an unnoticed thing for someone. Love is going the extra mile for somebody, or even just being nice. God says to love your neighbor, and your neighbor is everyone around you. You are to love everyone, even if they don't love you back. I don't see a reason to be mean to people, what if your just having a bad day? Take a step in that person's shoes, nobody likes to have people be mean to them. A lot of people think that it's about some lame spark between a boy and a girl. It is a spark, but it's also what you do because you have feelings for them. Love doesn't have to be in a romantic relationship either, just a relationship with somebody, which you have with everyone if your a best friend, or just an aquantance. Love is also looking out for the other person, talking about what they want to talk about and making them feel good. Even a warm smile can make people feel better and even change what people think about you. Love is so many different things put all into one. People think that love is just an emotion, but I believe love is so much more than that. It's emotional, physical, and a mental thing. Love can be an amazing thing if you understand what it is, and how wonderful it's potential can be. You'd be suprised at the heights some people reach becuase of how much they care about a person. Make a goal to love, and if you love, you will be loved in return, I guarentee it!
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Quick and to the point
I'm not going to be that girl who got pregnant in high school, I don't even know if I am even going to have a child. I know that I'm young and it's a big decision, but I feel like we need to adopt the children out there who don't know a home, a stable loving family, and a roof over their head. Take a step in their shoes, what if you lost your parents at a young age and had to live in an orphanage? What if you grew up with that hope that someday, someone will come along and take you home, but no one ever came? I feel like we as humans are selfish, and we could reduce the rate of children in foster care if we adoped somebody in our lives. I'm sure he/she will love you very much, and it's not like you can't have another after that. If I have kids someday, I know that one will be adopted.

Doing what I love
You sign your name and you enter through the big doors for the first time. There is people everywhere preparing themselves. It's still early, but everyone seems to be in a good mood. You begin to warm up and stretch out your muscles, it feels good after working out so much to prepare. Soon enough the official appears and calls the girls over. My mind begins to race, there's so many things to remember and so much that I could mess up! I ignore my thoughts and I start to warm up. Coach tells you everything that you need to know before it's your turn. The official calls your name. Your heart begins to race, and you start to sweat. You have practiced for this for months, and it's your chance. The people you love are calling for you, reminding you of the things forgotten when you throw. You step inside the ring, and start to swing it, back and fourth untill you get a good feel of it. Then you bring the weight up and around your head, lean back and let it carry you around untill you turn to face the field. You let go and it gets quiet, and you almost hear a simotanious breath of the crowd, hoping for success in your throw. It hits the ground seconds later, then the official calls "Mark!" and you exit from the back. You feel good as you make your way out of the cage, and seeing the smiling faces of your loved ones. The official calls out your length, the first throw of the season and it felt great.
My new best friend
I sit in the first row, second seat on the end in Biology. The girl who was supposed to sit by me moved, but a day later a new student joined us, he sat in her old seat. When I sat down by him I said, "Hi, my name is Kaitlin!" with a warm smile. He replied, "My name is Rashvir! Nice to meet you." He then offered his hand for me to shake. I thought this was really cool because nobody has ever shaken my hand at school before. He then smiled and said, "I just came from India!" He has a really strong accent so it's hard for me to understand him, so I have to ask him to repeat himself alot, which is probably annoying after awhile. We talk alot, and today we had a really good conversation, it went like this:
Rashvir: Have you heard of Lata Mangeshkar?
Me: I'm sorry, who?
R: Lata Mangeshkar!
Me: Haha, no, I'm sorry.
R: Well she is big in my country, like a goddess when she sings. Has sang over 5,000 of own songs in 55 different languages! The older she is, the more beautiful voice is!
Me: Wow, that's so cool! So, she's like The Beatles?!
R : Haha,
I got plenty of laughs from those listening in, alot of people in my class are very interested in him, since we don't get very many students from different countries. He's very friendly, and he loves to sing and dance. I looked up Lata Mangeshkar, but the music would be more appealing to me if I could understand her. There are some subtitles to it, but it's just not the same.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou0B9T89L0g
I really feel like I'm a creeper writing about a kid I just met, but his culture and humor is very good, and I wanted to share it.

Day .. I forget
So I've decided that the 30 day challenge is lame and I have given up, but I will still jump around on the topics!
Something I'm afraid of
I am afraid of very many things. I am very jumpy and just about anything can scare me, but I am terrified of the dark, ladybugs, and older men with mustaches. Okay, the last two were kind of weird I know, but ever since I was real little ladybugs have scared me, and older men with mustaches are scary in general, although I do like mustaches in general. I have a mustache mirror, and a shirt with a smiley face and it says "You can't tell but I'm smiling" and it's sweet!

Day 4
A picture of your favorite night
Since I don't have a way of taking pictures anymore, this is the best one i have. This was a realy good day, even if i barely talk to these guys anymore..
This was the day Groovy Spoon was having a grand opening and they asked the RV Band to play for it, and we ended up knocking out a bed, meeting up with some 6th grade teachers, marching through a drive through, and best of all we had Groovy Spoon and Cici's Pizza! That night I hung out with a girl nammed Sammy, and we played hide and seek in Walmart with her friends, then Sammy and I went to Blue Fusion Fun Center, which was a blast.

Where will you end up?
Have you ever seen the signs in the mall that say "You are here" with a map surrounding it? Don't you wish we all had a map that could point us in a direction of where we wanted to go? There is a direction pointed out for you already by God. Then comes along the question, "Do you believe in Fate?" Fate is when there's a reason for everything, from meeting the love of your life, to picking a certain pencil off the ground. There is many ways to approach this and fight it from either side. In the bible it says that God has a plan for each and every one of us and it's layed out. He knows his sheep and his sheep know him, he knows who will follow him, and who won't. I believe also that not everything happens for a reason, there is a deadly thing known as the devil who can kill us physically, emotionally, and meantally. Sometimes things just happen, but God makes it out for the good in our lives and we learn from it, because that is what christians are supposed to do. We cannot escape evil and it's nasty clutches completely. I believe we bring evil into the world through sinning, but there is only one human who has lived a perfect life then died and lived to tell the story. We cannot stop from sinning completely, but we can reduce by following Jesus and his teachings. In the bible it also says that a sin such as murdering has as much effect and consequence as something as simple as stealing. On the day when we are all standing before him and our lives are being examined you and I will be judged on how we lived our life. Were you devoted to following christ? You can be as kind. loving, and sweet as the next guy, but if you have not been buried in baptism giving your life up to Christ, then it really doesn't matter how many kind acts you do. Yes, being kind and loving is apart of being a christian, but take that big step on becoming devoted so you too can enjoy the power, love, and inspiration you get from being a follower of Christ!
Where do you want to be when your time here on Earth is up? Maybe Jesus will come in our lifetime, or maybe not, only God knows. I know people always say, "There's always tomorrow!" What if tomorrow is the day where Jesus comes back to Earth? Will you be ready?
"No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come... What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'" Mark 13:32-37

Day 2
30 Day Challenge; Day 2
A picture of you and the person you've been closest with the longest.
Her name is Megan Barrett, I don't have a picture of her, so I'll wing it.
She's a year younger than me, but she's been by my side the longest and she's going to be a phycologist, and she is really good with giving advice and being straight forward with me, even if I don't want to hear it. I love that about her, and many other things.
The third kid is Andrew, and he is tall, and has a lot of light blue ugly sweaters, and he's a mutual friend of mine and Megan's. How creative :) I love them both!

In the begining . . .
I am a 15 year old girl who has the wisdom of a middle aged woman through pains, struggles, boys and parents. I turn 16 this summer and this is my very first blog.
I am currently with my mother in a lovely town in Ohio. It's simple, yet satisfying. We moved into town last month, and I've never lived in a city. It doesn't help my mind wanders and I am terrified of the dark, sounds dumb, but I am definitely not the only 15 year old that is afraid of the dark. I'm not as afraid as I used to be, and this home is calming with it's country theme surrounding me. As much as I love simple sayings and ways of life, it seems like things always have to be difficult. I'm not complaining, because I'm happy to have a roof over the top of my head, and food in my belly. I've learned not to take anything for granted, because once it's gone, it's gone. As a simple introduction, i will keep this short, that is if someone even reads this. Remember not to doubt yourself (which I am still learning) and to "Keep on keeping on."
